Students will examine the principles of zero-waste, the waste hierarchy, and circular economy approaches, supported by global best practices and country-specific applications. The course highlights key success factors for achieving low-carbon operations through case studies that illustrate effective governance, technology adoption, supplier collaboration, and guest engagement. Practical tools and technologies, including greenhouse gas accounting, energy-efficiency solutions, renewable integration, and sustainable procurement, are introduced to enable data-driven decision-making. Emphasis is placed on the integration of zero-waste and low-carbon practices into daily operations, including staff training, stakeholder engagement, and the redesign of standard operating procedures.
